Planning a wedding AND having fun
Getting married often makes for some the most exciting times in your life, but it can also be established that extensive wedding planning can take its toll on pretty much anyone. There are lots of things to keep track of, keep your family and friends up to speed on or even keep their prying little noses out of. There are probably as many ways to go about it as there are people, and there is no "one right way" to do it.
It's natural for you to feel a little anxious when it comes to planning a wedding. It is a feeling every married bride will remember. You're wondering right now what is the best way to celebrate. This is the first in a series of article where I will try to help you figure it out, I'll be your online friend to lean on. Planning a wedding can be one of the most challenging times for couples. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, will have an idea on what you should do and how you should do it.
Go ahead and tell them that the only way that matters is your way! Albeit, within a reasonable economical frame of course. Because when it really comes down to it you and your fiancé are the most important figures. Plan your wedding like you want to have it. Naturally you shouldn't run people over left and right, and hurt people's feelings either.
This is an exciting time for you. You have found the one person, that special someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Lifetime commitment isn't something to be trifled with.
The question is now what do you do? Plan, plan, and have fun planning some more! That is the best advice I can give. My second word of advice is to stop worrying once the plan is set! You're going to make a wonderful bride and groom. Trust me when I say that, whatever happens, it usually turns out okay. A wedding is a lot harder to mess up than you think!
Make no mistake though, planning a wedding quickly turns into a full time job. I have determined that there are several areas that will need special care if you're going to SAVE BIG MONEY on your wedding costs. You'll need to have a serious heart to heart with your fiancé. This step will help you to determine what is a priority for you as a couple.
One of the first things to discuss is if there are certain things specific to the wedding that you must have. It could be special arrangements for the musical entertainment or a certain color to wear. Or it could be a particular location to have the wedding or reception at.
For example, I know a bride who was hell bent on having her wedding at an exclusive resort. The wedding chapel was in the midst of a garden beyond belief. While they spent a great deal on reserving the location, they actually ended up saving money because they didn't have to buy flowers. Once you determine your must haves, you can then begin to incorporate them into your wedding.
Planning a wedding is something most people end up doing only once in their life, and coupled with the complexity of it all it is thus one of the more difficult tasks we are faced with during our lifetime. With a little bit of advice and a good mood however, there is no reason your wedding won't be everything you've ever dreamed of.

Monica, what a fantastic first hub full of great advice for wedding planning. Good luck here at Hubpages! Keep writing excellent content.
I would echo what you said about planning a wedding- it turns into a full time job very quickly. The advice I would give to one planning a wedding is this: don't let it consume you! Take time to breath, relax and enjoy the season you're in as much as possible. Don't worry, things get better!
Two magical sentences put together: planning your wedding AND have fun. I wish I has this information when I got married. But... a friend of mine is t... the knot so i have a big surprise for her with your hub!
Thanks for sharing
Great hub! Planning a wedding is a full time job on it's own!
People always seem to forget what the wedding is really all about. I wish more people would spend as much time planning their lives together as they do planning their weddings, maybe the divorce rate would go down!
I agree with you Matthew..^^ planning of spending their lives together is also as impirtant as planning the wedding..^^
I wish I'd have read this before my wedding....great tips and a good read.
I totally agree! I definitely took the time to wrote a list of my top five must haves for my wedding. It is was not only very helpful, but was comforting. It was nice to see that even when one of the five things I had really wanted wasn't exactly the way I envisioned, that the rest of my plans had come true.
I like the idea of having fun planning a wedding, getting what you want in a wedding, at the same time saving a part of the money invested for that celebration.
well, to avoid any stress try planning a small wedding to be celebrated with close friends and relatives. In this way, you don't have to worry about what other people will say. And I agree with you, It's your day and no one else matters, It's only you, your man and your vows.
